Book Club in a Box

This program began as a grant awarded to the 49-99 Cooperative Library System to provide multiple copies of book titles for book groups in the 49-99 area (communities in Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Stockton, Modesto and Lodi). 

 Check the attached lists for titles available through the program.  There is a variety of fiction and non-fiction as well as some children’s and teen titles.  To request a box for your group send the following information to publiclibrary@co.calaveras.ca.us and include:   

• The name of your book group or geographical descriptor (such as Valley Springs book group or Elaine’s group or ???)  And name and phone number of contact person
• The library branch you want to pick up the box
• The title of the book you wish to borrow
• An alternate title if your first request is not available
• The number of copies needed by your group
• The date you will hand out the book to group members
• The date the book will be discussed (usually about a month after handing the book out)

The book boxes are stored in Stanislaus County.  We need 2 – 3 weeks lead time to get the book box to you to hand out at your meeting.

Consider these titles click here for list for your next book group.  Individuals can place holds on these titles.  Or you can contact Maurie at 754-6701 or mhoekstra@co.calaveras.ca.us and she will try to get the copies together and check out for an extended period of time.
