June 10th - Murphys Library hosted a birthday celebration for Copper, the Storytime Dog. Copper has been attending Storytime at the library for at least five years!
Mar 25th - County FOTL held their 20th Annual Trivia Bee. This year's theme was 'American Bandstand Era.' Attendees enjoyed dinner by The Pickle Patch, drinks served by Greenhorn Creek Men's Golf Club, and prizes galore! Fifteen teams participated; The Golden Oldies from Angels Camp won 'Best Dressed' honors. CLICK TO VIEW ALL FIFTEEN TEAMS!
Apr 22nd - Dressup Day/Earth Day at Murphys Library, featuring face-painting and gardening!
Apr 3rd - Murphys Library hosted an Appreciation Brunch for volunteers & staff.
May 23 - 28 - Arnold Library celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a Patron Appreciation Day, catering by Butter & Cream, a Kids' Bookmark Design contest, a Mystery Writers panel & book signing, Children's authors visiting elementary schools, Storytime with a Firefighter, a visit from State Librarian Greg Lucas, raffle prizes, scavenger hunts, and their annual GIANT BOOK SALE! The Board of Supervisors also declared May 21 - 28 as Arnold Library Week.
Apr 26th - Spring Storytime Celebration at San Andreas Library!
Kids enjoyed a story, music, crafts, and a beautiful new mural in the children's area with interactive 3D features.
What else could the treasure be but BOOKS!

Apr 29th - Calaveras Libraries were represented at the Resource Connection Children's Fair. Nancy & Kate set up a table to issue new library cards for kids, and help them make bookmarks!
June 17th - San Andreas/Mountain Ranch FOTL Library held their Secret Garden fundraiser at Tessa Bella Gardens, with dinner by Pickle Patch, music by 'Over The Edge,' and plenty of raffle prizes!

June 27th - 30th - San Andreas Summer Reading Camp: kids constructed 3-stage simple machines to pop balloons; creative solutions included pulleys, levers, a pin-car, and a killer duck!
May 18 - 21 - Calaveras Libraries were represented at the Calaveras County Fair. Thanks to our branch volunteers greeting guests; kids had fun spinning the wheel for prizes; even Smokey the Bear got a library card!
Feb 11th - West Point Library hosted a 'Love to Read' party, complete with cookies, valentine crafts, and music.
County Librarian Nancy Giddens appeared as Fairy Godmother for the day.
Mar 3, 4, 10 & 11 - Valley Springs FOTL presented their annual Melodrama, "The Pirate's Treasure" written by Don Urbanus
