What can you do to support your libraries?

  • Shop, Shop, Shop!

Sign up for a Community Card with Sierra Hills Market (Murphys), Angels Food Market (Angels Camp), or Mar-Val (Valley Springs), and designate ‘Friends of the Calaveras County Library’ as your beneficiary.

Shop online using Amazon Smile. Select ‘Friends of the Calaveras County Library’ as your charity to support, and contribute automatically with every order - no extra cost to you.

  • Monetary Donations

Cash donations are always welcome, and tax deductible! You could also choose to make a memorial contribution, or contribution in honor of a special person or occasion. Or, you might remember the Friends in your estate planning .

Since budget cuts in 2008, Calaveras County libraries have been doing more with less, as demand for library services has increased. Your tax-deductible contributions have enabled Friends of the Library to:

  • Provide valuable support to the Calaveras Adult Tutoring Program
  • Provide improvements to library facilities - such as signage, shelving, and furniture
  • Provide for special programs - such as Summer Reading Programs and Children’s Storytime
  • Enhance the county library collection with purchases of new materials
  • Provide new technology - including wireless Internet at all locations
  • Recycle

Bring your used ink cartridges to your local library branch.

  • Give Materials

Donate gently used books and DVDs at your local branch; and don’t forget to shop our shelves: proceeds from the sale of used materials helps Friends of the Library to buy new titles for your libraries.

Donate a magazine or newspaper subscription to your local branch.  If you have Coke Rewards, those may also be donated towards magazine subscription purchases.

Donate items (such as wine, handcrafts, art, specialty foods, etc.) for gift baskets to be raffled at special events. Proceeds from raffle ticket sales benefit the library book fund and adult tutoring program.
